Brief Background:

Adolescent Health unit is an essential unit that plays a major role on Reproductive Health Service. This unit started rendering F/P services to the adolescent, young adult from 14-24years at Bantama district and beyond.

Services rendered are School Health, Health Education, Home Visit, Family Planning Campaign, Counselling at Schools, Churches, Markets, Bus Stations etc. During family planning campaigns, The F/P method we issue are Long Term and Short Term. The long-term method includes IUD, Jadelle and Implanon and short-term method are; pills, male and female condom, depo norigynon. We do counselling for adolescent about contraceptives, breast examination, expression and counselling against stigmatization, misconception on method use in the community.

We refer cases that need further management like STI’s and also receive refer from various CHIPS Zone’s and Schools
